Terms & Conditions

All guests are required to present valid physical photo identification upon check-in. Accepted forms of identification include:

• Passport
• National identity card
• Photo driving licence

Student cards are not accepted as valid identification. We accept physical photo ID only; scans, photographs, digital copies and photocopies will not be accepted as proof of identity.

Failure to provide acceptable identification may result in check-in being refused.

Guests under the age of 18 are only permitted to stay in private rooms or shared rooms booked exclusively for the use of one family or a group travelling together.

Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, teacher or tour-group leaderaged 18 or over. The responsible adult must be staying in the same room or dormitory as the under-18 guest(s).

Check-Out
All departing guests must remove their belongings from their room and all other areas of the property and complete check-out by 11:00am local time.

After check-out, guests may use the hostel's luggage storage facilities, subject to availability and any applicable charges. However, all belongings must be removed from the room or dormitory and any room key cards must be returned to reception.

Late check-outs may incur a charge equivalent to the amount paid by the guest for the previous night's accommodation. Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to charge for a further night's stay where applicable.

Room Key Cards
Upon check-in, each guest will receive a room key card providing access to their allocated room. Key cards are activated for the duration of the guest's stay only and must be returned to reception upon check-out. Failure to return a key card will result in a charge of £5.00 per card.

Roam Hostel Glasgow will allocate accommodation according to the category booked. However, a reservation does not guarantee a specific room, bed, bunk, or location within the property.

While we take reasonable care to accommodate groups together, there may be occasions when it is not possible to allocate all members of a group to the same room or dormitory. The allocation of a group across different rooms or dormitories does not create an entitlement to a refund or reduction in the price paid.

Requests for specific rooms, dormitories, beds, lower or upper bunks, or other preferences will be taken into consideration wherever possible. However, such requests cannot be guaranteed and all room and bed allocations remain at the discretion of Roam Hostel Glasgow.

Failure to fulfil a specific request does not constitute grounds for a refund, compensation or price reduction.

If it becomes necessary to split a group across different rooms, we will endeavour to inform the group organiser in writing where reasonably possible.

Reservations made in advance do not constitute a legally binding contract until Roam Hostel Glasgow confirms the reservation and provides the customer with a booking reference.

All bookings are subject to availability, and Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

Bookings may be declined or stays terminated where reasonably necessary in the interests of managing risks, protecting the safety or comfort of guests, protecting the property and company assets, or protecting Roam Hostel Glasgow staff.

Subletting, transferring or selling a booking to another person is not permitted unless agreed in writing by Roam Hostel Glasgow management before the reservation is made and before arrival.

Roam Hostel Glasgow provides accommodation primarily for tourists, backpackers, groups and travellers wishing to explore Glasgow and meet fellow travellers.

Roam Hostel Glasgow operates a 10-night maximum continuous stay policy. Reservations for more than 10 continuous nights will not normally be accepted, whether those nights are booked under one reservation or multiple reservations.

If a booking is made for more than 10 continuous nights without prior written approval, Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to amend the check-out date to comply with this policy.

Any stay exceeding 10 continuous nights is strictly at the discretion of management and must be agreed in writing by email before the reservation is made. Verbal confirmation from any member of staff will not be considered valid authorisation.

Following check-out, a guest may not return to Roam Hostel Glasgow for a minimum period of 10 days, unless an exception has been agreed in writing by management.

Management reserves the right to refuse check-in where a reservation has been made contrary to this policy.

Exceptions may be made at management's discretion, subject to business needs and occupancy levels.

Where breakfast is offered, children under the age of 10 may receive breakfast free of charge provided that their parent(s) or accompanying adult(s) have purchased breakfast.

This offer does not apply to group bookings, including but not limited to:

• School trips
• Sports teams or sports travel
• Educational groups
• Large organised groups

Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at its discretion.

Valid and accepted debit or credit card details may be required when making a reservation in order to guarantee the booking.

The cancellation and amendment rights applicable to a reservation will be determined by the rate and terms displayed during the booking process.

All bookings must be paid for in full before check-in. Roam Hostel Glasgow does not offer credit facilities.

Card Verification and Payment Collection
The card provided at the time of booking may be checked prior to arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate any issues encountered when verifying or charging a card. However, Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to cancel a reservation if:

• The card is declined;
• The card details are invalid;
• The balance due cannot be collected in full prior to arrival; or
• Payment cannot otherwise be successfully authorised or completed.

Where a reservation is not a non-refundable booking, the outstanding balance will normally be due in full one day prior to arrival. At the hostel's discretion, the card provided may be charged from 10:00am on the day before arrival and at any point before check-in.

Where a third-party credit or debit card is being used to pay for a booking, written authorisation from the cardholder may be required.

To check the validity of a card and guarantee a reservation, Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to temporarily pre-authorise or hold an amount on the card prior to arrival.

If any payment due under these Terms and Conditions is not made, Roam Hostel Glasgow may, without prejudice to its other rights and remedies, cancel the booking and/or suspend the provision of additional services. We will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer in writing before taking such action.

Non-refundable bookings will be charged in full at the time of booking or within 48 hours thereafter, but always before arrival.

By booking a non-refundable rate, you agree that the booking is non-refundable and cannot be amended, transferred or altered, except where required by applicable law.

No refund or amendment will be provided for cancellations, no-shows or an inability to travel for any reason,including but not limited to:

• Travel delays or disruptions
• Medical reasons or emergencies
• Personal emergencies
• Failure to arrive
• Any other circumstance preventing the guest from using the booked accommodation or services

Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance to cover circumstances that may prevent travel.

Failure to check in at the property by midnight local time on the day following the scheduled arrival date may result in the reservation being classified as a no-show.

In such circumstances, the reservation may be cancelled in accordance with the applicable booking and cancellation policy. No refund will be issued where the applicable rate or cancellation terms do not permit one.

Unless a non-refundable rate or another specific promotional policy applies, Roam Hostel Glasgow operates a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Cancellations
Cancellation notice must be received by 3:00pm local time on the day before the scheduled arrival date.

Failure to cancel by this deadline may result in a cancellation charge equal to the total value of the booked stay, including all booked nights.

Cancellations must be made in writing, either:

• By email to the hostel; or
• Through the applicable online booking platform or messaging system.

Cancellations made by telephone or through direct messages on social media channels, including Google, Instagram, Facebook or similar platforms, will not be accepted unless otherwise confirmed in writing by Roam Hostel Glasgow.

Amendments
Unless a non-refundable rate or specific promotional policy applies, requests to amend a booking must be made by 3:00pm local time on the day before arrival.

We will endeavour to accommodate amendments, subject to availability and the applicable rate conditions.

Non-refundable bookings cannot normally be amended, refunded or transferred.

Promotional rates may be subject to separate terms and conditions as specified at the time of booking.

Early Departures
Guests who choose to depart before their scheduled check-out date will not be entitled to a refund for unused accommodation, except where required by applicable law.

The comfort, safety and security of our guests, staff and local residents are of paramount importance.

Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to ask any guest to leave the premises immediately if, in the
reasonable opinion of our staff or management, their behaviour compromises or threatens the comfort, safety or security of:

• Other guests or visitors;
• Roam Hostel Glasgow staff;
• Local residents; or
• The property itself.

Guests asked to leave for a breach of these Terms and Conditions or the House Rules will not normally be entitled to a refund.

Only registered guests with a valid reservation may enter their allocated dormitory or accommodation area.

Guests are expected to treat other guests, staff, local residents and the property with respect.

All guests agree to comply with the hostel's House Rules and any reasonable instructions given by staff in relation to safety, security and the operation of the property.

Repeated or serious failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions or House Rules may result in the guest or group being required to leave immediately without a refund.

Guests and group organisers may be held responsible for damage caused to Roam Hostel Glasgow property through deliberate, negligent or reckless acts.

Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to charge the cost of repairing or rectifying any such damage. Where damage is discovered after departure, we may charge the debit or credit card used for the booking, where legally permitted, or issue an invoice to the booking holder or responsible group organiser.

Guests may also be charged the full replacement cost of any item removed from the premises, including any reasonable delivery or carriage costs associated with replacing the item.

Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside Roam Hostel Glasgow.

Any guest found smoking within the building may be charged a minimum cleaning and recovery fee of £250 for each incident, reflecting the costs associated with cleaning, restoring and protecting the accommodation.

Guests who wish to smoke should ask reception staff about any designated smoking areas.

Failure to comply with the smoking policy may result in the guest being asked to leave the premises immediately without a refund.

Guests are encouraged to use the secure lockers provided in rooms, safety deposit facilities where available, or the hostel's luggage storage facilities.

Where lockers require a padlock, guests are responsible for providing their own padlock or purchasing one from reception where available.

Guests are responsible for ensuring that their personal belongings are secure at all times.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Roam Hostel Glasgow accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage of guests' personal property.

Roam Hostel Glasgow will normally retain lost or forgotten property for a maximum period of one week.

After this period, unclaimed items may be disposed of or donated, and we may no longer be able to assist with their recovery.

While we will make reasonable efforts to assist where possible, Roam Hostel Glasgow cannot guarantee that lost or forgotten items will be found or recovered.

Any postage, packaging or courier costs incurred in returning property to a guest must be paid by the recipient in advance. Roam Hostel Glasgow accepts no responsibility for items lost or damaged during postage or transit.

Any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in sales literature, the Roam Hostel Glasgow website, third-party websites, images, order forms, quotations, price lists, booking confirmations, invoices or other documents issued by us may be corrected without liability.

Where a material error affects a booking, we will advise the customer of the correction at the time of booking or as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter.

The person making the group booking is responsible for ensuring that all members of the group are aware of and comply with these Terms and Conditions.

Where a group booking is made by a school, sports club, tour organiser, educational institution, company or other organisation, the responsible organiser and accompanying adults must ensure appropriate supervision of all group members, particularly guests under the age of 18.

Roam Hostel Glasgow reserves the right to require the group organiser or responsible person to address behaviour or conduct issues involving members of their group. Serious or repeated breaches may result in individual guests or the entire group being required to leave the property without a refund.

By making a reservation with Roam Hostel Glasgow, the booking holder confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions on behalf of themselves and, where applicable, all members of their group.
